On 12 March, Arbor Day in China, Team Sasol in China organised an event for employees and their families to plant trees. More than 70 people gathered to support the sustainable social initiative. Each family planted at least one sapling. Per some statistics, one tree can absorb 5 to 10 kg carbon every year.
It was the second tree planting event organisd by Team Sasol in China, the last one was in April 2021, in the same countryside area.
Though small, Team Sasol in China are enthusiastic about contributing to the carbon reduction for Sasol’s global sustainable goals, just as one famous saying in Chinese, “take good actions no matter how small it could be”.
Sasol China runs a number of initiatives targeted at minimising the impact of our operations on the environment and ensuring sustainable environmental protection.
