Plant For The Future

Spring is here!

Sasol China recently launched its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign for 2021 – Plant For The Future.

More than 90 enthusiastic people – including family members – participated in the Plant For The Future initiative and 50 trees were planted at the SHUI MO DA NIAN Park in the suburbs of Nanjing.

Our China team prides themselves in running operations with safety and the environment top of mind as guided by the Sasol approach to environmental management.  We believe the trees we planted are not only for the park, but also represents our shared green future.

Consistent with the company’s Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Policy, we recognise that we have a custodial responsibility to respect and care for the environment, which includes addressing land and biodiversity matters.

Sasol’s activities have the potential to result in various biodiversity impacts including: reductions or deteriorations in virgin land size; on terrestrial plants and animals; and deterioration of river water and groundwater quality and quantity. Appropriate management, systems and governance structures are in place for managing environmental and asset retirement obligations.

Social distancing and face-masks are only required in places like hospitals and subways where there are crowds and potential risks. Most places in Jiangsu province, Nanjing, especially outdoor areas do not require masks or social distancing.
