Kneading Compassion | Sasol China Bake for Love

On 23 March 2024, the Sasol China Handicraft club in collaboration with the Amity Foundation, organized a heartwarming parent-child bake for love charity event. Fifteen families gathered at the Amity Bakery, an establishment under the auspices of the Amity Foundation (an influential non-profit organization founded in 1985 for public welfare), dedicated to nurturing pastry-making skills among children with disabilities, helping them integrate into society and give back to their families.

Guided by the joyful and patient instructors with some disabilities, each family embarked on the task of making cookies. The process of creating the sweet treats involved a series of steps: stirring, mixing, and squeezing the dough into shape, followed by half an hour of baking. Every employee working in the bakery has dreams, even if it means practicing a simple action a hundred times more than others, and it is never given up. By learning and practicing baking skills with the instructors, the employees of Sasol China and the children experienced personally the challenges faced by special families, gaining a deeper appreciation for the beauty of a happy life.

After the bake for love session, the families engaged in a canvas bag painting activity. The children unleashed their creativity, using a palette of colors to paint the image of a joyful baking model on the canvas bags, infusing each creation with heartfelt blessings. This event not only provided an opportunity for families to bond over baking and art but also highlighted the importance of inclusivity and support for children with special needs.
