Best Convenience Store and Best Forecourt

Sasol was awarded Best Convenience Store and Best Forecourt in the Petrol Station Industry category at the recent Ask Afrika Orange Index® 2022/2023 Awards. The annual Index tracks service excellence in South Africa in both the public and private sectors. Ask Afrika surveys a wide cross-section of South Africans on the performance of the top companies in the country to judge how well they fare on customer effort, overall reputation, treating customers fairly, first call resolution, and Net Promoter Score (NPS).

“We view this accolade as a tangible demonstration of approval by the market and consumers that the current strategy initiatives developed by the Sasol Mobility Business is delivering value to both our Retail partners and Franchisees in the network as we continue to grow a winning brand value proposition,” said Dumisani Bengu, Senior Vice President: Sasol Mobility and Customer Experience.

The Sasol Retail business has been very intentional in its efforts to achieve customer satisfaction through strategic partnerships and improved customer value propositions.  These include the launch of the Sasol Rewards Loyalty Programme in April 2022. Customers earn 30 points per litre of fuel every time they swipe their Sasol Rewards card. The points can be easily redeemed against fuel and in-store purchases at any of the participating Sasol Retail Convenience Centres.  The programme was well received by our customers as we currently have over 900 000 registered swipers.

Further to this, in March 2022, Sasol partnered with the Marble Group to turn an average forecourt store into a ‘one of a kind hybrid supermarket’ that delivers exceptional value to consumers through its deli, supermarket, takeaway and retail store all in one location called The Pantry which is located in Rosebank, Johannesburg. The Pantry was named Best Forecourt Store in the recent 2022 Best of Joburg Readers’ Choice Awards. This store is located at a Sasol Convenience Centre in Rosebank.

These are but some of the strategic initiatives to position Sasol Energy as South Africa’s most trusted and loved fuel brand.

Sasol is pleased that its customers approve of their efforts to build best in class offers for them and demonstrated this approval by voting Sasol the “Best Forecourt and Best Convenience Store” in the Petrol Station category. The Petrochemical giant would like to thank all its customers for always choosing Sasol, partners, suppliers and Retailers for the continued support. Sasol is an iconic South African brand and a customer centric obsessed company.
