Sasol in Society

The Sasol Friendly Neighbour Programme brings warmth to Pillsbury Child Care Centre, an NPO for the disabled in Alexandra Township.

Over thirty children living with disabilities from Pillsbury Childcare Centre in Alexander Township, Johannesburg, Gauteng, were recipients of much needed food and non-food items, donated by Sasol Bowling under the Sasol Friendly Neighbour Programme.

Through the Sasol Friendly Neighbour programme, our Sasol retail sites have an opportunity to partner with Non-Profit Organisations (NPO) that focus on education and skills development, community health and infrastructure, and environment. The partnership should result in community upliftment.

Pillsbury Child Care Centre is a Day Care and Boarding Schooling NPO that supports children living with disabilities by providing cognitive stimulation, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and sign language. The facility is a reputable childcare entity that provides high-quality care and education to physically impaired children between the ages of 4 to 19. Pillsbury offers a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow, with a focus on promoting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

In ensuring the day is delightful, other Sasol Bowling convenience center key stakeholders such as Rolling Chicken company, RFP Distributors, Super Group, Ola and Nestle also supported the initiative by donating lunch packs for the handover event which took place on Wednesday, 10 April 2024.

In seeing the dire need of the facility, Rolling Chicken committed to a year’s supply of chicken to the centre. We are delighted by this partnership and will continue to share more stories of the magnificent work our franchisee network is doing with communities.
