A Sasol em Moçambique testemunhou, na passada Terça-feira, 27 de Fevereiro de 2024, a inauguração da repetidora de sinal da Rádio Moçambique, na localidade de Pande, distrito de Govuro, província de Inhambane. Esta infraestrutura inclui um emissor de 250 watts e uma torre de 60 metros que transmite o sinal em 88.3 megahertz FM.
Na ocasião, o Governador da Província de Inhambane, Daniel Chapo, agradeceu à Sasol pela intervenção na concretização do sonho de implantar a infra-estrutura, que vai contribuir sobremaneira na massificação do desenvolvimento no norte da Província de Inhambane.
Para o Director Geral da Sasol, Ovídio Rodolfo, a inauguração da repetidora de sinal não só representa a realização de um projecto de grande importância, como também marca um avanço significativo na promoção do acesso à informação e na melhoria da comunicação nas comunidades adjacentes às operações da empresa e arredores.
Por seu turno, o Presidente do Conselho de Administração da RM, Abdul Naguibo, destacou a importância da instalação do sinal da RM em Govuro, pois, para além de formar, ensinar e entreter a população, a repetidora vai ajudar no desenvolvimento de Govuro e outros distritos circunvizinhos, através da disseminação de informações úteis para o desenvolvimento de Moçambique.
Fernando Muzobingua, Administrador do Distrito de Govuro, sublinhou que o apoio da Sasol por meio da repetidora, beneficiará mais de 30 000 habitantes do norte de Inhambane e sul de Sofala. Tendo em conta a propensão da região a intempéries, esta iniciativa reforçará a capacidade de resposta da população perante tais desafios.
A entrega da repetidora adiciona-se a outros esforços da Sasol em Moçambique, no mesmo pilar de acesso à informação, neste caso, a reabilitação da Rádio Comunitária Save, que fora destruída por calamidades naturais, limitando a disseminação da informação às comunidades. O apoio à restauração e ampliação de sinal das duas rádios reafirma o compromisso da Sasol em fortalecer os meios de comunicação e promover o progresso na zona norte de Inhambane e sul de Sofala.
Sasol finances the installation of Rádio Mozambique signal repeater in Govuro
The inauguration of Radio Mozambique’s signal repeater in Pande, Inhambane was proudly witnessed by Sasol Mozambique on February 27, 2024. This infrastructure includes a 250-watt transmitter and a 60-meter tower broadcasting the signal at 88.3 megahertz FM and covering a radius of approximately 60 kilometres.
On this occasion, the Governor of Inhambane Province, Daniel Chapo, thanked Sasol for their involvement in realizing the dream of implementing the infrastructure, which will greatly contribute to the development in the northern part of the Inhambane Province.
For Sasol’s VP Mozambique Country Management and Corporate Affairs, Ovídio Rodolfo, the inauguration of the signal repeater not only represents the realization of a project of great importance but also marks a significant advancement in promoting access to information and improving communication in the communities adjacent to the company’s operations and surrounding areas.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of RM, Abdul Naguibo, highlighted that besides educating, teaching, and entertaining the population, the repeater will assist in disseminating useful information to Govuro and other surrounding districts, furthering the development of Mozambique.
Fernando Muzobingua, District Administrator of Govuro, emphasized that Sasol’s support in making the repeater a reality will benefit more than 30 000 inhabitants of northern Inhambane and southern Sofala. Considering the region’s susceptibility to adverse weather conditions, this initiative will strengthen the population’s ability to respond to such challenges.
The delivery of the repeater adds to Sasol’s continued efforts to improve the access to information in Mozambique. Radios such as Save Community Radio whose ability to disseminate information to communities was previously destroyed by natural disasters, will directly benefit from this initiative. The restoration and expansion of signal for radios reaffirm Sasol’s commitment to strengthening media access and promoting progress in the northern part of Inhambane and southern Sofala.
