Small business is big business

Since 2014 Sasol has committed $4 billion to Louisiana-based contractors and spent $575 million with Louisiana suppliers – more than $100 million to suppliers in Calcasieu Parish. Sasol is committed to empowering and developing local small businesses, to help them conduct business within the industry.

Small Business Resource Guide

Sasol also partnered with local business development organisations to develop a Small Business Resource Guide which provides step-by-step guidance on how to start a new business and information on working with Louisiana industry.

The guide directs readers to local organisations and programmes that provide assistance on starting new businesses, growing existing businesses and connecting with companies that need their services or products. Sasol also funds monthly certification workshops and other small business development training for area businesses and entrepreneurs. In fiscal year 2018 alone, Sasol sponsored 20 free community small business workshops for more than 1,000 attendees. These workshops assisted more than 70 businesses achieving minority certifications, 29 new business start-ups, 91 jobs created and retained, and $8.4 million in capital investment.
