No âmbito dos preparativos para a cerimónia de inauguração da nova Fábrica de Processamento Integrado de Gás Natural, que inclui uma unidade de produção de Gás de Cozinha (GPL), o Ministro dos Recursos Minerais e Energia, Estêvão Pale, efectuou nesta sexta-feira, 10 de Outubro de 2025, uma visita de campo ao complexo industrial da empresa, em Temane, distrito Inhassoro, província de Inhambane.
A deslocação do governante teve como objectivo acompanhar de perto o progresso dos testes, calibração e verificação (comissionamento) da nova infra-estrutura, em preparação para a sua inauguração. Durante a visita, Pale testemunhou o estágio em que se encontra a operacionalização da fábrica e da sua prontidão para o início da produção de Gás de Cozinha e de Petróleo Leve
O Ministro mostrou-se satisfeito com o avanço do projecto e sublinhou que a nova unidade representa um passo decisivo no reforço da cadeia de valor do gás natural em Moçambique, contribuindo para a industrialização do país e para a criação de oportunidades sustentáveis nas comunidades circundantes.
Por sua vez, o Vice-Presidente Executivo de Operações e Projectos, Victor Bester, que se deslocou a Moçambique para os mesmos efeitos, expressou satisfação pelo acompanhamento contínuo do Governo, salientando que esta parceria é fundamental para garantir que os investimentos da empresa se traduzam em benefícios concretos para o desenvolvimento nacional.
O encontro entre o Ministro e a liderança da Sasol reafirmou o compromisso mútuo de continuar a trabalhar em estreita cooperação, assegurando que o potencial energético de Moçambique se converta em progresso económico e social e para o país.
Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy visits Sasol’s new Integrated Natural Gas Processing Plant
As part of the preparations for the inauguration of Sasol’s new Integrated Natural Gas Processing Plant, which includes a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) production unit, Mozambique’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Estêvão Pale, conducted a field visit to the company’s industrial complex in Temane, Inhassoro District, Inhambane Province, on Friday, 10 October 2025.
The Minister’s visit aimed to closely monitor progress on testing, calibration, and verification (commissioning) activities at the new facility ahead of its official launch. During the tour, Pale observed the operational readiness of the plant and the final stages of preparation for the start of LPG and light oil production.
Minister Pale expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress, highlighting that the new facility marks a decisive step in strengthening Mozambique’s natural gas value chain. He noted that the development would support the country’s industrialisation efforts while creating sustainable opportunities for surrounding communities.
Sasol’s Executive Vice President for Operations and Projects, Victor Bester, who travelled to Mozambique for the occasion, welcomed the Government’s continued engagement, emphasising that this partnership is vital to ensuring the company’s investments deliver tangible benefits for national development.
The meeting between the Minister and Sasol’s leadership reaffirmed their shared commitment to working closely together to ensure that Mozambique’s energy potential translates into lasting economic and social progress for the country.
