Sasol was well-represented at the 2024 Comrades Marathon as it hosted a refreshment station and painted Drummond in an explosion of blue and white, in what required hours of setting up of temporary structures preparation and distribution of food and hydration sachets.
Drummond is one of the biggest refuel stations for runners.
Sasol’s refreshment station, or waterpoint, was manned by diligent Sasolites volunteers from different business units, who joined hands to provide a memorable service to the athletes.
A total of 60 runners from the Sasol Marathon Club took part in the marathon known as the Ultimate Human Race. Two members of the Sasol Marathon Club, Macaleni Mahlangu and Shellboy Mavuso earned silver two medals after finishing the 85.91 km long ultramarathon under 7:30 hours. A total of 55 out of the 60 Sasol Marathon Club runners finished the marathon within the official cut-off time.
This year our Group CEO and President Simon Baloyi earned his ninth medal.
