Sasol China recently held its second ‘Sasol for Good’ event on 15 April 2023. The event was focused on tree planting with over 70 employees and their families coming together on a warm spring day to plant saplings in support of Sasol’s decarbonising targets.
Sasol’s decarbonising targets include a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, and net zero emissions by 2050. The tree planting event in China is one small contribution to these goals, as trees play an important role in carbon sequestration and can help to mitigate the effects of climate change.
This was the third consecutive year that Sasol China has organised the tree planting event. The initiative aims to create positive social and environmental impacts in the communities where Sasol operates.
The event was also an opportunity for Sasol China to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and the need to take action to combat climate change. It was a reminder that we all have a role to play in protecting our planet and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.

As stated in our values, we CARE deeply for our people, planet and communities. ‘Sasol for Good’, our global employee volunteer programme, is an example of our values in action as it focuses on employee giving, support to charities and donations.
Launched in July 2015, Sasol for Good creates an avenue to leverage the considerable, diverse abilities and expertise of our employees to become more involved in volunteering causes to empower fenceline communities and co-create sustainable livelihoods.
